Frames of Preference: 30 Rock

30 RockTelevision comedy is at its best when it starts in a real place and becomes something ridiculous, but no less heartfelt. Such is the case with Tina Fey’s now-finished sitcom 30 Rock. A show that, on its surface, is about the goings-on behind the scenes of an SNL-esque sketch comedy program evolves beyond its premise fairly quickly. This screenshot is testament to that fact, as it comes from one of the weirder (but funnier) one-off celebrity cameos off the series. James Franco stars in a season four episode as a fictionalized version of himself who is secretly in love with a Japanese body pillow. And, as you can see, hilarity ensues.
